We're located directly on Hwy 40 on the free Winter Park Resort shuttle in the Park Plaza Shopping Center, along with Rudi's Deli and Pepe Osaka's. We are directly in front of town park with easy access to miles of hiking, biking, cross country & snowshoe trails.
Customer parking is available to make it easy for you to pick up and drop off your equipment rentals! We have parking in the front lot and on the street, as well as access from the back of our store for loading and unloading equipment! The FREE Winter Park shuttle bus stops right in front of our shop so getting around town and to Winter Park Resort is no problem!

Meet the Wares, owners of Epic Mountain Sports, Winter Park’s favorite sport shop!
Epic Mountain Sports, a Winter Park Ski & Outdoor shop since 2008, is embarking on an exciting new chapter. Zach and Corinne took ownership in November 2024.
Zach Ware is no stranger to Epic Mountain Sports, having been a key member of the team for years. You may also recognize Corinne from her time at Epic over the seasons and she is thrilled to be back! The Ware family have been living and playing in Grand County since 2008, and are excited to continue serving the community with their young son, Ridge, by their side.
One of our greatest advantages as a family owned & operated business is that we are able to run our store without the limitations of larger corporate sporting goods retailers. This approach allows us to put our customers' happiness above all else! We do this by offering competitive prices, friendly & engaging customer care, and by only carrying products that we have personally tested and believe in. This allows us to bring the highest quality skis, snowboards, bikes, outerwear, safety gear, fitness apparel, and clothing to our customers.
We place a high value on training our team members to provide expert product knowledge and friendly efficient service. We do this so our team is equipped to address any questions you have and ready to help you find the gear you need to enjoy your next epic adventure...and yes, our training includes plenty of time off for powder days & bike rides!
Our shop continues to evolve to meet the needs of local customers and visitors, yet we still pride ourselves on providing quality rental equipment, top of line gear repair services, personalized customer service, and affordable rates.

After working for many years as a manager at other shops in the area, Katherine Mowrey noticed a lack of superior rental equipment, accessible information and exceptional customer service. She knew she could use her experience to better serve outdoor enthusiasts in our community. So, in 2008 she decided to take a risk and follow her passion for outdoor adventure by opening her very own shop, that's how Epic Mountain Sports was born!
Eric and Katherine Mowrey have expressed their confidence in the Wares' ability to maintain the spirit of Epic Mountain Sports and fostering the sense of adventure and community that has defined the shop for years.
