Bike or Walk the Fraser River Trail.
Likely the most popular & widely used trail in the area, the Fraser River Trail meanders alongside its namesake river and stretches between the village at Winter Park Resort and nearby town of Granby about 20 miles down the line. If you're starting out front of our shop (located in Downtown Winter Park) your best bet is to either take the 2 mile section up to Winter Park Resort or head out the opposite way for a 2ish mile trek to Fraser.

Attend Music in The Park.
Grab a 6-pack & some take-out then head over to a High Note Thursday Concert at the Rendezvous Event Center in Downtown Winter Park. Spend your evening dancing to local music in the mountain air. Music varies week by week to appeal to a variety of tastes but it's always a good time & a perfect way to unwind near the end of week.

Rent a SUP Board or Kayak & Spend a Few Hours on the Lake.
Get out early to make the most of your day & avoid afternoon winds which may make the paddle back a bit more than you bargained for! Need a place to rent? Try Rocky Mountain SUP they're locally owned with great gear & friendly vibes.

Go to the Rodeo!
One of our highlights every summer is an evening spent at the Rodeo. Pull on your cowboy boots & head on over - you can choose from the Flying Heels Rodeo in Granby or the High Country Stampede in Fraser. It's a great activity for the whole family that will have you dreaming of being a cowboy!

Take a Hike!
3 of our favorites are: Devils Thumb (located towards Tabernash, this is a moderate/advanced hike with views of the valley) or Monarch Lake in Granby (a dog friendly 4 mile scenic loop around the lake) or the Discovery Loop/Jim Creek Trail in Winter Park (pick either the mellow 2 mile discovery loop or tack on Jim Creek for a near 7 mile hike that ends at a small waterfall). Rent a Mountain Bike
Tackle the Idelwild Trail System or discover the new flow trail of Akima's Way on the Vasquez Trail System. Both trail systems are within short riding distance from our shop - so you can hit the trail quickly. Ask for a map & more info at pick up

Camp Out Under The Stars.
There's perhaps no better escape than a rocky mountain camp out with your favorite people! If you're looking for something more remote try camping at Meadow Creek Reservoir just be sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle & at least 2 nights to spend, also remember to bring your kayak! Prefer something a little closer to town? Idelwild campground offers beautiful well maintained campsites with plenty of trees & a nearby river, it's also within walking distance of town.
